Contemporary Slavic studies have been meaningfully influenced by the impact of innovative research methodologies, themes and perspectives, linked to the need of exploring and reinterpreting several linguistic, literary, cultural, and historical aspects from original angles. The rapid socio-cultural changes, the spread of post-humanist values, and the processes of globalization occurring in our century have gradually brought about an evolution in the Slavic subjects, promoting new and effective modes of interpreting reality. At the same time, the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict has significantly altered international political balances, stressing the urgency of questioning Russia’s cultural and political role, as well as the need for a deep reflection on national identity.

The increasingly interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary nature of academic research in the humanities is crucial for facilitating a comprehensive and multi-layered study of the complexity inherent in the contemporary world.Various scholars in the Slavic studies have initiated a flourishing dialogue with other areas of study, generating new layers of knowledge and engaging with previously distant academic fields. Additionally, modern digital methodologies enable new modes of research, particularly related to the challenges and opportunities presented by the linguistic corpora and the tools for automated and multimedia translation. These methodological developments reflect an ongoing commitment in the humanities to revitalize and renovate traditional narratives.

The conference Renovating narratives. Innovative Research Perspectives in the Slavic Studies aims to provide an in-depth and comprehensive outlook on the innovative aspects of the Slavics tudies, showing how broader research perspectives are essential in order to maintain the richness and diversity of the Slavic cultures. The contributions presented by the speakers will investigate both contemporary research topics, with the aim to contextualize and understand current socio-cultural dynamics, and innovative research methodologies.

The deep interdependence between the languages and cultures belonging to the Slavic world, along with the evolution of the Slavic subjects, will be explored with a particular focus on the areas of Serbian-Croatian, Russian, and Ukrainian studies. This dialogic exchange proves to be a significant opportunity for renewal, as it contributes to generating unexpected and inspiring research paths. Furthermore, considering the primary value of interdisciplinarity in the contemporary academic context, the proposed contributions encompass various fields of study, including literature ,linguistics, language, teaching methodology, sociology, philosophy, etc. At the same time, to offer a broad and diverse perspective on the selected themes, the conference will bring together speakers at various stages oftheir academic career, from national and international academic institutions.
